Two-Line Cordless Telephone w/Caller ID

To Make a Call

  • Using the Base:
    • Press the Digital Sp-Phone button
    • Dial the phone number
    • When the other party answers, speak into the microphone
    • To hang up, press the Digital S-Phone button
  • Using the Handset:
    • Press the On/off button or the Line 1 or Line 2 button
    • Dial the phone number
    • To hang up, press the On/Off button or return the handset to the base

To Answer a Call

  • Using the Base:
    • Press the Digital Sp-Phone button or the desired line key
    • To hang up, press the Digital Sp-Phone button
  • Using the Handset:
    • Lift the handset off the base unit and press the On/Off button, or the desired line key
    • To hang up, press the On/Off button, or return the handset to the base

To Answer A Call While On Another Line

  • Using the Base:
    • While on the first call, press the Hold button (the first caller is put on hold)
    • Press the other line button
    • To return to the first call, press the Hold button (puts the second caller on hold) and then press the other line button, OR just press the other line button (the second call will be terminated)
  • Using the Handset:
  • While on the first call, press the Clear button (the first caller is put on hold)
  • Press the other line button
  • To return to the first call, press the Clear button (puts the second caller on hold) and then press the other line button, OR just press the other line button (the second call will be terminated)

To Place a Call on Hold

  • Using the Base:
    • Press the Hold button. (The Digital Sp-Phone indicator goes out, and the Called Line indicators on the base unit and handset flash.)
  • Using the Handset:
  • Press the Clear button. (The Called Line indicators on the handset and base unit flashes and “Hold” is displayed)

To Retrieve a Call on Hold

Press the line button on the base unit that is flashing, or on the handset (can be used interchangeably)

To Transfer a Call
Note: In order to transfer a call, the phone must have the 3WC feature.

  • Using the Base:
    • Press the Conf button (caller is placed on hold)
    • Dial the phone number
    • Press the Conf button (connects you with both callers; all 3 of you will be connected and can talk to one another if desired)
    • Press the Digital Sp-Phone button (releases you from the call)
  • Using the Handset:
    • Press the Flash/Call Wait button (caller is placed on hold)
    • Dial the phone number
    • Press the Flash/Call Wait button (connects you with both callers; all 3 of you will be connected and can talk to one another if desired)
    • Press the On/Off button or return the phone to the base unit (releases you from the call)

To Make a Conference Call Using Both Lines

  • Using the Base:
    • While on line 1, press the Hold button (caller is placed on hold)
    • Press line 2 to either answer a call or dial a number
    • When the call on line 2 is connected, press the Conf button (connects you with both callers)
    • To hang up both lines, press the Digital Sp-Phone button
    • To hang up only one line, press the line button for the party with which you want to continue talking
    • To put both lines on hold, press the Hold button; to talk with only one caller, press the corresponding line button; to resume both lines, press the Conf button
  • Using the Handset:
    • While on line 1, press the Clear button (caller is placed on hold)
    • Press line 2 to either answer a call or dial a number
    • When the call on line 2 is connected, press the Conf button (connects you with both callers)
    • To hang up both lines, press the Talk button
    • To hang up only one line, press the line button for the party with which you want to continue talking
    • To put both lines on hold, press the Clear button; to talk with only one caller, press the corresponding line button; to resume both lines, press the Conf button

To Switch To the Handset While On a Hands-free Speaker Call

  • If the handset is off the base, press the desired line button
  • If the handset is on the base, just lift the handset

To Switch to a Hands-free Speaker Call While On a Call Using the Handset

Press the desired line button on the base

To Change the Ringer Volume
The Ringer can be programmed for High, Low, or Off.

  • Using the Base:
    • Press the Ringer button (both line indicators will flash)
    • Press Line 1 or Line 2
      Each time you press the line button, the ringer volume will change from High to Low; continue pressing the button until you reach the desired setting.
      Or
    • To turn the ringer off, hold the desired line key until 2 beeps sound
      Or
    • To turn the ringer back on, hold the desired line key
      The selected line will sound at the High level.
  • Using the Handset:
    • Press the CH button
    • Press the down arrow key twice, until the arrow on the display points to Ringer Volume
    • Press the right arrow key
    • Press the down arrow key for Line 1 or the up arrow key for Line 2
    • Press the down arrow key to change the volume to Low or the up arrow key to change the ringer to High
      Or
    • To turn the ringer off, press and hold the down arrow key until 2 beeps sound
      Ringer off L1 Or Ringer off L2 will appear in the display.
      Or
    • To turn the ringer back on, press the down arrow key for Low or the up arrow key for High

NOTE: When you replace the battery, the selected ringer volume setting will return to factory set of High.

To Adjust Speaker Volume
8 levels

  • To increase, press the up arrow Volume button on the base while on a hands-free call
  • To decrease, press the down arrow Volume button on the base while on a hands-free call

To Adjust Receiver Volume on the Handset
High, Medium, Low

  • To increase, press the up arrow button while on a call
  • To decrease, press the down arrow button while on a call

To Redial a Call

  • Using the Base
    • Press the Sp-Phone button or a line button
    • Press the Redial/Pause button
  • Using the Handset:
    • Press the On/Off button or a line button
    • Press the Redial/Pause button

Turning the Auto Talk Feature On
allows you to answer a call by lifting the handset off the base without pressing the Talk button

  • Press the CH button
  • Press the down arrow key 3 times, until the arrow on the display points to Program
  • Press the right arrow key
  • Press the up arrow key once, until the arrow on the display points to Talk switching
  • Press the right arrow key
  • Press the up arrow key until the display shows On
  • Press the right arrow key to save

Turning the Incoming Call Tone Off
While on one line, a tone can be heard to alert you that a call is coming through on the other line (default), or it can be turned off.

  • Press the CH button
  • Press the down arrow key 3 times, until the arrow on the display points to Program
  • Press the right arrow key
  • Press the up arrow key 2 times, until the arrow on the display points to Incoming call
  • Press the up or down arrow key repeatedly until Tone: Off is displayed
  • Press the right arrow key
  • Press the CH button to exit

Viewing the Caller’s List

  • Lift the handset and press the down arrow key
  • To search from the most recent call, press the down arrow key again
  • To search from the oldest call, press the up arrow key
  • To exit the list, press the CH button
    NOTE: A check mark will appear in the display after you have seen a number in the callers list. An X, followed by a number defines how many times the number has called (up to 9); the date and time of the most recent call will be recorded.

Erasing Entries in the Caller’s List

  • To erase individual entries:
    • Lift the handset off the base and press the down arrow key repeatedly to find the caller you want to erase from the Caller’s List
    • Press the Clear button to erase
  • To erase all entries:
    • Lift the handset off the base and press the down arrow key
    • Press the Clear button
    • Press the down arrow key
    • Press the right arrow key

Storing /Using a One-Touch Number in the Directory

  • Press the CH button
  • Press the down arrow key three times, until the arrow on the display points to Program
  • Press the right arrow key twice
  • Enter a phone number, up to 48 digits.
    NOTE: Each time you press the CL button, the digit to the left of the cursor is erased; to erase all of the digits, press and hold the CL button. The display will only show 32 digits; press the Left Arrow or Right Arrow key to scroll through the entire number if necessary. If a pause is required, use the Redial/Pause button.
  • Press the down arrow key
  • Press the right arrow key to save
  • Press the CH button to exit
  • To dial this number, press the Direct button (the stored number is dialed automatically)

Storing, Dialing, and Erasing Numbers in Memory Via the Base Unit
Note: these are stored in the base and can be dialed from the base unit only.

  • To Store a Number
    • Press the Auto/Program button on the base
    • Enter a phone number, up to 22 digits.
      NOTE: If you mis-dial, press the Auto/Program button twice to erase everything. If a pause is needed, use the Redial/Pause button. You can store up to 10 numbers.
    • Press the Auto/Program button
    • Press a button 0-9 on the keypad to be used as the memory button for the stored number
  • To Dial a Stored Number
    • Press the Digital SP-Phone button
    • Press the Auto/Program button
    • Press the memory button desired (0-9)

To Erase a Stored Number

Press the Auto/Program button twice and then the memory button to be erased on the keypad

Using The Directory

  • To Store a Number:
    • Press the CH button
    • Press the left arrow key (the display shows the number of stored items in the directory)
    • Enter a name, up to 15 characters, using the dial pad
      NOTE: If a name is not required, proceed with the next step. Each numbered key will give upper and lower case of each letter associated with it, as well as a number; the number 1 key will give several symbols; continue pressing the associated numbered key to see the different letters/numbers associated with it. To move to the next character in the name, press the Right Arrow key. To enter a space, use the Right Arrow key. To delete a character to the right, press the Clear button. To delete all the characters, press and hold the Clear button.
    • Press the down arrow key
    • Enter a phone number, up to 22 digits
      NOTE: If a pause is needed, press the Redial/Pause button. To delete a digit to the right, press the Clear button. To delete all the digits, press and hold the Clear button.
    • Press the down arrow key
    • Press the up arrow key to save
    • Press the CH button to exit
  • Finding Items in the Directory:
    • Press the left arrow key
    • Press the down or up arrow key repeatedly until the desired item is displayed, OR press the dialing button for the first letter of the desired name (the list will automatically scroll to the first name beginning with this letter)
    • Press the Talk button
  • Deleting Items in the Directory:
    • Locate the desired number in the directory
    • Press the Clear button
    • Press the right arrow key
    • Press the CH key to exit

Additional Information:

If you mis-dial, press the Clear button (all digits will be erased), and then the desired line key; or hit the On/Off button and then the desired line key.

If noise interferes with the conversation, press the CH button to select a clearer channel, or move closer to the base unit.

If you do not press any buttons for 60 seconds, the unit will return to the standby mode. The display is blank, but the handset can receive calls.

To turn the Caller ID flashing light off, you must erase all entries in the caller’s list (see above).
