Account Numbers and OAM System Access Changing for Customers with Telecommunication and Networking Personal Services on August 20 07/28/09
OIT - Telecommunication and Networking customers with personal services will see changes to their related account numbers and how they login to the Online Account Management (OAM) system on August 20, 2009, at 5:00 PM.
Telecommunication and Networking customers with personal services will have their related account numbers converted to OSU ID numbers on August 20. The university assigns each new faculty, staff and student with a unique OSU ID upon arriving at the university. The university converted existing students to new OSU ID numbers this past year. OSU ID numbers for existing faculty and staff will continue to be their OSU employee ID numbers.
In addition to the account number change, OIT is changing how customers login to the OAM system. The OAM system lets customers manage their personal telecommunication and networking services and accounts online.
On August 20, customers who access the OAM will be sent to OIT’s standard account login page. This page will require each customer to authenticate or login to the system by providing their university assigned OSU Internet username (name.n) and password. OSU faculty, staff and students that need to activate an OSU Internet username and password or have forgotten this information can get help online at https://acctmgt.service.ohio-state.edu/Password.html or by contacting OIT at 688-HELP (4357).
OIT is implementing these changes in compliance with the university’s mandate to eliminate the use of Buck ID and Social Security Numbers as account numbers and for identification purposes.
Questions regarding these changes should be directed to OIT at 688-HELP (4357) or by e-mailing units@osu.edu.
