Telecommunications and Networking Billing Statements Changing to E-bills in July 05/20/09
In an effort to be more eco-friendly, OIT’s Telecommunications and Networking area will change to e-billing and no longer provide paper bills to administrative offices starting with the July 2009 bills. The July e-bills will be available by August 2, 2009.
The effort to move to e-billing exclusively has been in the works for several years. OIT implemented an online site, the Administrative Web Interface (AWI), in 2004 to give administrative customers (fiscal officers and billing coordinators) more flexibility in how they view and manage their offices’ telecommunications and networking billing accounts and services. The AWI’s capabilities have been refined and new features added over time, giving administrative customers more options in not only how they view their billing statements, but more tools to manage their services.
Today, the AWI offers administrative customers several options in viewing their monthly billing statements electronically. Administrative customers can choose to automatically receive either an e-mail notice when the bill is ready for online viewing or have the actual billing statement e-mailed to them directly by the second day of each month.
Administrative customers can further customize how they view their e-billing statements with several on demand options. On demand options include the capability of viewing either summary pages only or the entire bill through a web browser, as well as the ability to view, download and e-mail all or part of their monthly bill in an ASCII (Excel) file format.
OIT is planning to offer several AWI training classes in July to help administrative customers become familiar with the AWI’s capabilities and the e-billing options available. Class dates, times and locations will be communicated to administrative customers as soon as details are finalized.
