Internet and Telephone services restored! 06/18/08
Internet, computer and telephone services were restored to all administrative buildings by Tuesday afternoon. As a result of an underground fire that occurred early Saturday morning June 14th, faculty, students, and staff in 44 buildings were without internet and telephone services.
Staff from the Office of Information Technology, (OIT) worked 24 hours a day to repair the damaged fiber optic and telephone cables. Internet services were restored before start of classes Monday morning. Telephone services for administrative buildings were fully restored by Tuesday afternoon. OIT is working with Student Affairs to repair the telephone cables serving the balance of the affected residence halls.
As buildings are brought back online, information will be updated at oit.osu.edu. Should you experience problems with your internet, computer, or telephone service, please call 688-4357, (8-HELP), and select either option 1 for computers or option 2 for telephone service.
The Office Information Technology would like to thank the university community for your patience and cooperation during this challenging event.
