Automated Pay-by-Phone and Account Balance Options to be Discontinued on August 30

On August 30, 2007, the pay-by-phone and account balance options of OIT’s Automated Customer Service Line (part of 688-HELP) will be discontinued. The automated repair-by-phone option will continue to operate for the time being.

The automated pay-by-phone and account balance options were established several years ago for students and staff that ordered personal-use services (e.g., cellular, long distance, internet, etc.) through OIT’s Telecommunications and Networking group. Use of these two automated phone options has greatly diminished, as customers have elected to use more convenient pay-by-web and online account management options.

In addition to the web, OIT offers personal-use customers several other payment options. Customers that prefer to get updated account balance information or pay their bill by phone may continue to do so by contacting 688-HELP and selecting option 2 to speak to an OIT representative. Representatives are available between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
