Electronic-only Billing Option Now Available from OIT 11/30/06
OIT customers now have choices when it comes to receiving their monthly billing statements for university telecommunication and networking services. OIT (formerly UNITS) recently implemented an electronic-only billing option, giving departmental and residential customers the ability to stop receiving printed and mailed statements each month.
The electronic method provides a friendly e-mail reminder each month that the most recent billing statement is now available online for review and payment. In addition to receiving an e-mail notice, departmental and residential customers can also choose to eliminate the printed version of their bill.** Best of all, the electronic-only billing and e-mail notification options are free and easy to request.
Departmental customers can request the electronic-only notice and stop the printing of their bill through OIT’s Administrative Web Interface (AWI)* or by calling 292-8648. Upon logging into the AWI system, departmental customers will need to complete two steps for each hierarchy (chartfield string). Once on the AWI “Main Options” page, customers will need to select and complete the following two steps:
1) “Sign up or Cancel Email Notification of College or Department Bill” – Complete this option to request a monthly e-mail notice of your OIT bill.
2) “Sign up or Cancel Receipt of a Printed Bill” – Complete this option to stop receiving a printed and mailed version of your OIT bill.
*NOTE: The AWI site is restricted to a limited number of authorized users for each department or college office, such as fiscal officers or telephone coordinators. Any changes to your OIT account and monthly bill through the AWI system must be made by your department’s authorized user(s). If your office does not currently utilize the AWI system, please contact one of the OIT Account Managers to establish access or call 292-8648.
Residential customers (faculty, staff and students with personal services and accounts) can eliminate their printed bill and request e-mail billing notification through OIT’s Online Account Management (OAM) system or by calling 292-8648. After logging into your personal account through the OAM system, you will need to select the “Change Services and Account Information” option. Then you will need to select and complete the following two steps:
1) “Email Notification Address” – Complete this option to request a monthly email notice of your OIT bill.
2) “Sign up or Cancel Receipt of a Printed Bill” – Complete this option to stop receiving a printed and mailed version of your OIT bill.**
**NOTE: Residential customers who eliminate the printed bill will NOT be able to pay their OIT bill by MAIL using a personal check, money order or credit card, and will need to use one of the following payment methods each month:
• Pay-by-web (requires a major credit card or BuckID account)
• Payroll Deduction Service (enrollment required; only available to Faculty and Staff)
• Debit Payment Service (enrollment required; requires a personal checking account)
• Pay-by-phone (requires a major credit card or BuckID account)As of August 30, 2007, the automated pay-by-phone option is no longer available.
