OIT to Co-host Mobility Summit on November 2 10/16/06
The Office of Information Technology and Sprint Nextel are co-hosting a Mobility Summit on Thursday, November 2, 2006. Two identical sessions of the Summit are being offered and both will be held in the Policy Forum room of Page Hall, located on the first floor. The morning Summit is 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, and the afternoon Summit is 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
The purpose of the Summit is to highlight wireless technologies and applications that can enrich teaching and learning, as well as enhance university administrative services. The agenda will cover topics such as:
• High-speed wireless data (an overview)
• Network and device roadmaps
• Applications that extend the office and classroom
Following each session’s presentation and discussion, attendees will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from industry-leading companies to learn more about how today’s technology can be used to improve communications and access to information.
The free sessions are open to all university faculty, staff and students. Space in each session is limited; therefore, registration is required to attend. To learn more or to reserve your spot in either the morning or afternoon session, please contact OIT Cellular Specialist James Walton, by either e-mail at walton.153@osu.edu or by phone at 7-6993, by Friday, October 27, 2006.
