UNITS has contracted with Dish Network to deliver Basic Cable TV Service to residents living in the residence halls and apartments on Newark Campus. This standard service is provided to you as part of your room or apartment contract with Student Affairs. Cable service is already active in each room or apartment. This means, you do not need to order cable TV service, and you will not receive a separate monthly bill for the service.
What You Need:
Your room is equipped with a receiver box, remote and two jumper cables.
Everything is connected and ready to go. All you need to do is connect your
TV equipment to the cable coming out of the receiver.
NOTE: The receiver box, remote and two coax cables are the property of UNITS and The Ohio State University. Please do not remove this equipment. A $300 replacement fee will be assessed to the occupant of the university room or apartment if the satellite receiver and/or remote is damaged, lost or stolen. Theft, willful damage, alteration or destruction of cable television equipment, or unauthorized reception of cable programming is prohibited by federal and state laws, and University Policy. Violators are subject to state, federal and University criminal penalties. UNITS makes periodic checks in all university-owned buildings and will remove any illegal cable television connections and equipment found.
Setting up Your TV and User Instructions:
- Connect the coax cable from the receiver (TV output) to the Input on the back of your TV.
- Turn your TV and receiver on.
- Tune your TV to channel 3.
- Use the remote control provided to change the channel on the receiver.
